Aspect ratio

I believe that most photos taken with digital cameras have an aspect ratio
of 1.3333.
I have noticed that when I take my camera to an automatic printing computer
some shops now have and have them printed in the standard 6x4 format that
the tops of my photos are missing and this could be due to the fact that the
aspect ratio on a printer computer is 1.5
They do have an adjustment that gives me a choice of either missing part of
the top or part of the bottom of the photo. I have spoken to the shop staff
but they have no solution.
What in this situation is the best way to overcome this problem?

================================
I think cropping is the only solution unless
your camera is one of the few that has the
3:2 option.

The good news is a 4:3 image fills a standard
computer monitor screen perfectly...and may
be the reasoning behind the choice. Now that
we have 16:9 wide screen I guess that theory
is toast.
