What is this? Somehow this is now as an account user on my Windows XP. Should I delete it? Omly myself and my boyfriend should have an account and I have no idea where it came from.

Also, I am new to this chat - how do I get notified when someone responds to my question?

This is not chat. This is a newsgroup. You may or may not receive a notification, just check back, find your question and your answers.

ASP.NET is an account that is created during the installation of the ..NET Framework (the core engine that allow programs written in the .NET languages to run). There is nothing unusual about this account.

hi dougie, i noticed this is the second time in a matter of 20 or so posts
that you have bluntly replied to a perfectly good question. yes this guy is
a mvp but its good to see that he doesnt think he knows everything, the
other guy was probably a newbie.
