Asian file names

I have a user running a macro that lists the files in a directory and writes
them to a workbook. The files have Asian characters in their names when
viewed in Windows Explorer. When written to a cell, these characters are
replaced with question marks.

Anyone have any idea how to handle the above problem?

Bob, one or the other will have to convert their settings to be compatible
with the other. One cannot use U.S. English settings and process Asian
Chinese or Asian Japanese files.

Any idea of what to change where? I'm not aware of an Excel setting on
language. Perhaps it is a default font issue causing the problem.
