Problem : Asian characters are not displayed properly in Draft and sent Items Folder

hi,

We have developed an Pocket PC application In Vb.net CF and having
English language selected as
the default regional setting(The device Model : HP ipaq 6510a.

We are providing an sms functionality in our application and it's
supposed to save all the messages to Drafts folder of pocket PC under
Messaging . We are reading the texts from flat files written in
different languages (ie chinese, japanese , korean , english and some
european language) and displaying it in a textbox . The contents of
this text box is being saved in the Draft folder mentioned above .

We copied some fonts to the windows font folder on the device and also
assosiated these fonts in the code by using the font property of the
controls. Hence with the application the asian characters are displayed
properly.

But the problem we are facing is with viewing the same asian
characters when viewed as a message under the drafts folder . The
asian characters shows up as either boxes or question marks.

Is there any way to install fonts that will be compatible with all
applications ( Like drafts,inbox,pocket word etc.) in the device .

Hi,

Try to import and use the function Addfontresource, in order to install
you font.
