ASF Files (How do I play them)

I have a digital camera that does video in the .ASF format. On my old XP
system Windows Media Player played these files fine, however in Vista it
says there is a codec missing for it. The weird thing is the videos will
play in Picture Gallery. Riddle me this?

No player I have will play them but the PIcture Gallery...and oddly they
will play in Windows Movie Maker fine as well. Aren't these related to WMP?
