Arovax shield V1.2.348 ok so far ? anyone else

Zaphod

have been using arovax shield for 2 weeks and so far so good,
previously upgraded to Microsofts defender after using antispyware beta
and found several areas it no longer protects .. my only complaint
about arovax is the lack of configuration options plus there is no
scanner.. however since using Arovax Ad-aware personal has found no
spyware at all.. Ad-aware would at least find something previously
while using either Microsofts antispyware beta or defender.
anyone else finding this program worthy ??

Sorry to have to say this and please don't be offended, but you must be
doing something wrong if you're getting infected with stuff that AdAware
was finding in the first place. I have yet to have either AdAware or
Spybot S&D find anything (other than Alexa:

entries in the registry, and they're installed along with Windows) on my
computer.

I don't reply to trolls like Andy Mabbett, Doc (who uses sock puppets)
or Roger Johansson, for instance. No adware, cdware, commercial
software, crippleware, demoware, nagware, PROmotionware, shareware,
spyware, time-limited software, trialware, viruses or warez for me, please.

John .. you don't have teenagers poking into places they should not ???
... from what I've seen of your posts your rather conservative, me and
my wife are conservative with our computers and our browsing habits ..
but others here are not with thiers and often poke into places that
cause problems, and as such certain PC's here have had several bad
episodes with completely updated anti spyware programs installed, plus
Microsofts defender does not protect against BHO's .. and I've seen BHO
entries cause many a headache ..

Personally i find it very "vauge" in its interface and in its protection
description. Is it as useful as winpatrol? or regprot?.I dont know because
i cant find a comparison.

I've used it for a few months now. I have an awful lot of security-
programs running, because I have to surf 'unsafe' very often.
Arovax was the only program that blocked a change in security-settings
in IE.

Zaphod;

As far as doing tech-support for my family, you've described my
experience to a t. I, my wife, my parents...in-laws...all pretty
conservative wrt to behavior on PC's. My kids and assorted nieces &
nephews on the other hand...

On the bright side, I've experienced first-hand the integration of the
tech they use in their socializing (camera phones, myspace.com, im,
youtube, etc etc). Pretty fascinating time and if they didn't "break"
their 'puters, I'd be missing out.

You're right. I'm the only one using my computer. Good point.

You're right again, and so have I. That's why I turn BHOs off in IE.

By the way, for other's who are interested in Arovax, here's its home page:
