arial unicode ms - default

No matter how often I set my default font (to Verdana), my
default font remains Arial Unicode MS, which is in all
manifestations a detestable and unattractive nuisance,
since when it pops in, as it frequently does, it does so
double-spaced. If I move text from document to document,
presto! -- Arial Unicode MS. If I erase a paragraph, or
move a paragraph within a document, hey, it changes to
Arial Unicode MS. Anybody have any ideas, other than
rooting this thing out of my computer (which probably would
just allow it to default to something else I don't want)?
Thanks very much.

If you are talking about the Office Production (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
etc), then you need to post in the Office groups - they can assist in
telling you how to create a new default template using the fonts and
characteristics to your likings.
