ArcServe stuck job

G

Gordon Pegue

Greetings-

I've got ArcServe 2000 (V7) running on a Win2K server.

The server went down unexpectedly while the backup job was in progress.

Now that I've got my server back up, the ArcServe job status shows the
backup job as "Active" even tho there is now no tape in the drive, all
the ArcServe services have been stopped and disabled.

I cannot seem to get the backup job to stop. Even after a reboot!
HELP!

CA tech support is a joke as they've discontinued support for my version
of ArcSlurp... and I'm not on thier infamous maintenance agreement...

Any ideas?

Thanks
Gordon

Hi,
Just try to reinstall or repair the Arcserve installation
I remember a case where we had the same situation , in the end we tried
to repair the installation

or

If you can delete the the drive(Tape drive) the in arcserve forcefully and
then reinstall it back
this will cancel all the jobs that tape drive is going through

Besides the engines, you have ~3 services that run with Arcserve that you can not end task on. There is a utility to "Kill" using the PID # of the service running. This is CA's fix. I just can not rmember the service's names. (sorry not in front ot that machine).
Hope this helps.
