Hi, I am trying to burn my archived .pst emails to a disc to eleviate spce on
my computer. No matter how I try and do it, I cannot reopen the archived
folder from CD as it says I don't have permissions. Does anyone know how I
can burn emails to CD and have the ability to open them from the CD if needed?

Thanks

You need to copy the archive to your drive and remove the read-only
attribute to access it. Outlook needs write access to open PST files.

Bill,
Thanks. I tried this, checked the properties before burning to disk, but for
some reason it is locked to read only once burnt. Once I cope it back to my c
drive I can open them, which proves your theory right, as the attributes are
now not read only. Do you know how I can burn to disc without the attributes
going to read only? Thanks

no. you need to copy it back. discs only have the write access when being
burnt. Packet writing software might be a workaround. I've used it but not
for quite some time.
