Hello MVP's,

I want to change the archive path.
I did Article ID : 836755 and used the path:
%userprofile%\application data\Microsoft\outlook
It changed the archive path but also changed the offline folder path and
caused other problems. Has anyone tried this lately?

I want my ost's to go Local but not my archive pst

In a domain with roaming profiles? You REALLY don't want to do this. The
pst-file will be copied back and forth between the client and server during
logon/logoff. When the pst-file becomes large logon/logoff will take a whole
lot longer. Result; people will think it hangs and turn off the computer the
hard way and corrupt the pst-file beyond repair.

Keep the pst-file local and use the pst-backup add-in from Microsoft to make
a backup of the pst-file to a networkshare which you then can backup.

I disagree, I'd have different archive.pst's all over the place your way... I
need to maintain a single archive per user. Plus my mobile users would not
benefit when out of the office. This method worked very well until SP2 was
released then something changed and it woudn't work in conjunction with cache
mode. Note that My Doc's is redirected and I have a GB network. We want and
need archives in the roaming profile. This way they can also be centrally
backed up in compliance with strict policies.

I got it 100% now.

I mistakeingly was using both the ADM policy (which is the same as
ForcePSTpath) and the archive path in the prf at the same time. Once I
corrected the registry and ran the prf script again I now have pst in one
location and the ost in another.
