Archive Function Not Working in OL 2003 Win XP

I'm following the instructions for archiving my email folders, but when I
press the button I see action in the bottom right of my screen for about ten
seconds indicating archiving is taking place, then nothing. None of the
messages I've asked to be archived are
transferred to the archive folder. Is there a solution to this?

The archive engine looks at several attributes of a message to see if it is
eligible for archiving. These attributes are:

Received Date
Sent Date
Last Modified Date
Do not archive bit

Just so you know, blank/empty date fields are treated as having a date of
1/1/4501 and would never be considered eligible for archiving. Best
suggestion I can give you is check those attributes to see if they break
your aging criteria.
