archive folder apparently not closing properly

C

Chas

Every time I open my outlook (2003), a dialog box comes up with them
following message:

The data file 'archive folders' was not closed properly. This file is being
checked for problems.

It shows up with a progress bar and under that it tells how many seconds
remaining (although the seconds change continuously) It may take several
minutes to complete.

How can I fix this?

Can you please copy your response to my other email address --
(e-mail address removed)

Thank you!

This is a sign that Outlook isn't closing properly. See if something here
helps:

Ask here, get an answer here. Also, never publish a real address in a
newsgroup unless you enjoy dealing with junk mail and viruses.
