Applying Themes to Presentations

Okay here's the scenario...

Open presentation and apply Theme A (to all slides in presentation).

Save presentation.

At some later date presentation is needed for another purpose.

Open presentation and apply Theme B.

BUT.. .When choosing new layouts the layouts for Theme A are still available.

This has been problematic because sometimes the only difference between
Theme A and Theme B is a small logo or something similar.

Is there any way to move fully from one Theme to another without
accumulating the layouts for every Theme that was ever used for the
presentation?

Thanks,
Christine

I should add that this is also problematic because some of our Themes have 2
or more Master Slides for each one...so the Layout pile up after a while!

Sorry about the multiple posts.. I keep getting error messages that the
system is busy or I'm just not allowed to post right now.

I went and duplicated what is happening to see what the conditions are...

If I am on slide 1 and choose a Theme that is already available (custom or
built in) and change the Theme... it will completely change all the master
slides w/ their accompanying layouts in the New Slide or Layout pull down
menus... the first time!

BUT

When I go to switch it again, even w/ a saved file, I get two sets of master
slide/layouts.

So...

Presentation is saved w/ Theme A (one master slide).

Reopened and Theme B (two master slides) is applied (Design tab, then choose
existing Theme available in Custom or Built In or Browse for Theme), then
saved.

Reopened and Theme C (two master slides) is applied.

At this point when I go to choose a new slide or switch a layout I have FOUR
sets of master slides and layouts to choose from. Two from Theme B and Two
from Theme C... and interestingly they are in the order of Theme C, Theme B,
Theme B, and Theme C.

I've tried repeating the above steps w/ a variety of different Themes and it
only seems to happen after I've used a Theme w/ multiple masters. If the
Theme has only one master, and I choose another Theme w/ only one master...
we seem to be okay.

BUT

Once I go from one Theme to another and there are mulitple masters involved,
that is when I start racking up sets of master slides and their layouts and
can't seem to get ride of them.

Help!

I took your advice and tried applying to selected slides and it made no
difference.

If I go from a Theme w/ one master to one w/ one master everything is fine
but once I introduce multiple masters, they all accumulate.

Leave it to me to discover new glitches in the program!
