Applying Design to Existing PPT

I have numerous templates with a different title page layout than the
subsequent pages. So template has two different layouts within it.

I'm trying to apply that design to a 6-slide blank presentation.

The title page is being applied to the very last slide.

Any idea how I might fix this?

Chance are the last slide has the "layout" applied to it called "Title
Slide"

If you view the last slide, then go to the format menu and choose "slide
layout", then choose a layout that you feel would be the best one. But don't
choose "title slide" !
