APPLIES TO Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 7

No there aint. NT4 paid support ends Jan 01/05, begining Jan01/04
Hotfix support ended, January 2007 Online Support ends, although one
would think that the newsgroups and KB support articles will still be
available, but the way KB articles are flying off the MS servers I
wouldn't be surpised to see them flush the whole KB, just to force NT
Server users to upgrade.

The service pack 7 is old news: http://www.microsoft.com/ntserver/sp7.asp

Consider 6a SP7, when you see articles with links to SP7 you get
directed to 6a download.

Yes that is all well and good. But believe it or not this appeared in available updates for my Windows 2000 Server. And is in fact installed. I was wondering why I was given that as an option for installation and when I read the article I chuckled and said well gee maybe Windows NT 4 SP 7 = Windows 2000 SP2. Maybe not so I posted this.

Actually I knew that it was likely a typo. But then what does:

Article ID : 831579
Last Review : June 28, 2004
Revision : 1.0

really mean? Nothing I suspect.

Well what I said isn't entirely true, SP6a is the last NT SP and when
you see reference to SP7 you know that it doesn't exist, it usually
means means to install 6a or dig further for a specific hotfix not
covered by 6a.

John

Or maybe not...............
