applications hanging at startup

At the risk of being off-topic... I have recently experienced a couple of
my apps (Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat) hanging during startup. I
noticed this a little bit after I installed the latest windowsXP SP2. I
have tried reinstalling both applications... made no difference. I just
can't think what could cause this... any ideas?

Are you getting any errors, or are the programs just not loading?

Go to Start | Run and type in: msconfig
Go to the 'Startup' tab and trim down what loads on startup.
I suppose it's possible that another program isn't playing nice with Adobe.

I also read some things about Norton AV giving Illustrator problems.
