Applications cannot see files in sub-directories

I first noticed this a few days ago.

Files I created in Adobe Acrobat and saved to a subdirectory were not
visible when I tried to view them from Windows Explorer - but I COULD see
them listed in a CMD window and I could open them from the 'recent files'
list in Acrobat.

I ran chkdsk /f and it did find some errors and fixed them but that didn't
resolve the issue.

Now, I am trying to load graphic images into Photoshop and it cannot see any
of the files I can see in the directory. Strangely, if I copy the
sub-directory to the desktop, then Photoshop can see them! If I rename the
sub-directory on the desktop and copy it back to the original directory, it
is invisible to the application again.

I have run my anti-virus (NOD32) but nothing is coming up.

Any ideas?

Nope - absolutely standard file names and it's never been a problem in the
past - just the last week. Odd

Check the file permissions inside a command window or on the "Security" tab.
Normally files are not hidden. If this is an Adobe software issue post in
Adobe forums.
