I recently purchased a new PC. I am in the process of
moving files and applications over to the new PC. As I
did so I started to notice a few instabilities in IE V
6.002800.1166. Initially I received an error message
sporadically that would force closiure of an IE window.
Now whenever I try to start IE from my primary account I
receive an error "IE has experienced a problem and needs
to close". However, if I am logged in as a Guest on the
PC, I can start IE with no problem.

A couple of times I have been able to start it on my own
account - if I shut down and restart. But that is only
sporadically.

For further info I did use the Files and Settings
transfer Wizard during the conversion.

It seems that my profile is messed up. I did download
the most recent IE with updates and installed it, but the
problem didn't go away.

Has ANYONE experienced this issue, or have an idea how to
fix short of starting over?

Rule out parasites. The error message indicate some bad activities.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware

and:

SpyBot-S&D

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.
