Application start up

My Norton System Works application will not start up. I
also have a few peices of new software added which when I
double click the Icon the programme starts but instantly
closes down??
Can anyone help so the programmes stay running??

Often with Symantec app errs it is neccessary to completely remove the app,
before performing a clean install. See Symantec site for details
 
I have eventually cured this problem. I had a very bad
virus within my WINN startup files. I removed it by going
to . www.pandasoftware.com/activescan. It took about 20
minutes but well worth the wait as my windows is good now.
This virus was clever and would not let me open any anti-
virus protection. It also would stop me from opening the
symantec web site. I tried a few other online free scans
but only the Panda site would actually download
succesfully and fnally eradicated the virus. My Norton
System works is up and running now so hopefully will not
get infected again??
