Hi Guys, I have a problem with being booted from a website or program and
getting the "windows is not responding" message, at which time all I can do
is control/alt/delete. I haven't had any luck finding out why this is
happening or what to do about it. I run spybot regularly and my virus
protection is active and up to date. No viruses are being reported. This is
really becoming a pain in the backside because it is happening frequently on
a daily basis. I have read questions from other users and the "hangup"
messages are pretty much the same as what I am getting from the event viewer.
One of the responses was the update driver, and if that would solve the
issue, I would do it except that I don't know how. Does anyone have any
solutions for this problem? And by the way, I have done system restore and
that didn't help either.

I suggest you check the Applications Section of Event Viewer for recent
Error Reports and post copies here.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools,
Event Viewer.
When researching the meaning of the error, information regarding Event
ID, Source
and Description are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427&Product=winxp

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the
error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button
resembling two
pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now start your
message
(email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This will paste the
info from the
Event Viewer Error Report complete with links into the message. Make
sure this is
the first paste after exiting from Event Viewer.

In Event Viewer there is no facility to print Error Reports. A
workaround is copy and
paste the Error Report into an email, send it to yourself and print off
the copy in your
Inbox or your Sent Items folder.

Hope this helps.
