Application Event Log error will not go away. Need help!!!!

The following is the actual error message which i followed
the resolution correctly. Even thou i did what it said the
error message is still in the event viewer under
Applications. Can someone sugguest another answer. The pc
is on a small office network of about 32 computers. Its a
P4 2.6Ghz, 512 ram 80gig hard-drive. Its a Gateway.

Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Date: 1/21/2004
Time: 4:20:38 PM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: NMICHAELS
Description:
Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. Return
value (1722).

Just to add, (for Neil) there are so many permutations for a 1000 error,
sometimes it gets muddled and difficult to diagnose. Usually I would check
to make sure that ONLY the internal DNS is only listed in IP properties (DCs
and clients) and no external DNS servers or the router listed as a DNS
address, just to eliminate that as a possible source as the issue.
