Application Errors--why? how fix?

Larry

Various "Application Error" messages keep interrupting my
Internet Service (Internet Explorer 6.0), and I'd like to
know why and how to fix this. Here are some of the
messages displayed:

* rund1132.exe -- Application Error
The instruction at "0xx77f585c0" referenced memory
at "0x00000002". The memory could not be "written". Clock
OK to terminate the program.
(This error message occurred while loading Outlook
Express.)

* iexplore.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x77f83aed" referenced memory
at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "written". Clock
OK to terminate the program.
(This error message occurred while loading a hyperlink
online.)

* realevent.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x00e71212" referenced memory
at "0x7620aa8a". The memory could not be written.
(This error message ocvcured while powering up.)

ALSO: I don't know if this is related to problem above,
but I also keep getting Error messages stating that a
particular program (including Outlook Express, itunes,
QuickBooks) "has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We're sorry for the inconvenience."

What do all these mean, and is there any way to remedy
the problem(s)?

First eliminate any scumware.

I also have various application errors like described by Larry (the only difference is "read" instead of "written"). I did run scumware removal programs ( Adaware and Spybot) but I still get those application errors. Does anybody else have any suggestions?

Thanks
