Application Error...Please HELP!!

I was wondering if anyone could help me?

I get an Application Error when I insert my “Game of LIFE†CD. It always
worked before, now when inserting the CD and clicking “Play†on the AutoPlay
screen I get this error message:

Application Error: F:\LIFE\life.exe

The instruction at 0041a65c referenced memory at 00000000
The memory could not be read from

Click OK to terminate the application.

When this happens my mouse pointer disappears and the only way to get it
back is to press Ctrl-Alt-Del and the program then closes.

I was always able to play this game on this PC before, until now. I’m
running XP SP2

I tried to run SCF/SCANNOW as I saw suggested here (before I posted) but it
asked for my windows CD and I don’t have it. My PC came with XP professional
already on.

Can anyone please help me??

Are you able to run other games from that particular cd drive? If not,
something is wrong with the drive. Can you run the game cd on a
different computer? If not, perhaps you've damaged the cd.
