Application error - Memory could not be "read"

N

neil40

Hi,
I've suddenly started getting lots of crashing programs that give the
error as above - with lots of different 'Instruction xxxxxxx referenced
memory at yyyyyyy'

A general question

Are these errors generally caused by
a) An XP software problem
b) Faulty RAM

Something else?

This started since problems with an Installed program being
uninstalled, maybe it screwed up part of the Windows XP image?

Thanks for any pointers
Neil

Well Neil, it can happen for many reasons, what you have been doing or
opening when that Error occur..., serving the net or Opening Docs, playing
game?.
What program is that you uninstall and how you uninstall it if you don't
mind me asking?.
Be sure your computer clean from malwares and viruses.
Try to have a look in the Event Viewer for any Error messages (X) that can
shed some lights on the culprit in your case.
On how to access the Event Viewer follow this:
1- Click Start >> Run
2- In the Text Input type: eventvwr click [OK]
3- On the Event Viewer you will see three Folders named; Application,
System, Security
4- By clicking on each and look in the Right Pane/window you will see a log
file or events
5- Double click the error message (X) to get more Info and you can copy and
paste this errors in your next message/post here.

Try to Perform a clean Boot, on how to perform clean boot read this article:

HTH.
Let us know.

Have you tried a system restore to before the problems started?
