Application error (exception) starting AntiSpyware

I just installed the latest beta of AntiSpyware (I can't start it to see the
version, but the file version is 1.0.0.615) on a Windows 2000 Professional
system. The installation seemed to go OK; I see the AntiSpyware icon in my
system tray, and real-time protection seems to work. However, whenever I
try to open the main AntiSpyware app or start a spyware scan from the tray
icon, I get a dialog box containing the following:

(Title) Microsoft AntiSpyware: GIANTAntiSpywareMain.exe - Application Error
The exception Breakpoint
A breakpoint has been reached.
(0x80000003) occurred in the application at location 0x77f9193c.

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on Cancel to debug the program

Does anyone have any ideas?

I had uninstalled & reinstalled (to the default directory) yesterday before
my post, and this morning I ununstalled & reinstalled to a non-default
directory; I also used the Update shortcut to update the program (which
seemed to succeed.) It still crashes with the same emssage.

Hi

Try to completely remove MSAS and try again.

Uninstall MSAS from Control panel add/remove programs.

Delete C:/Program files/ Microsoft Antispyware
Delete C:/MSAS folder

Download CCleaner and remove all temporarily junk.
Also clean registry with "Issues".

Quick Tour about CCleaner and download.
http://www.ccleaner.com/help/tour1.asp

Download a fresh MSAS copy, www.microsoft.com > Popular downloads
and try again.

Do you have any developers' debugging applications installed?
