This is the strangest thing. On certain sites but specifically
cbssportsline.com; in my fantasy football page when i go to the live scoring
section it starts an applet, it fails to complete it, then i lose my intetnet
connection. Once i reboot i can connect again.

Has anyone else had antything like this happen, i have tried reloading the
javascript, to no avail. I am about to give up.

Hi Garry :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Java applets don't work

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

What steps, all i see for me to do was go to the cmd prompt and check if java
is loaded. The answer is yes, but i did not see any other steps to follow.

Why would theses applets cause my internet connection to try and renew my ip
address, when it does, it locks out internet access, if I try to perform a
connection repair, that is when i receive the error that says windows can not
renew your ip address.

If i reboot, all is well again until i try to run the page once again.

Frank,

These java tests work on that site. both of them. Yet my problem continues
on that site. I have checked with my other 2 pc's and they also work fine on
that site. So i am still convinced there is an isse with the script. I have
no idea as to why it shuts down my internet connection nad causes my IP
address to no longer work.

AFAIK, applets involve Java, not scripting, but:

1. You might want to refresh your scripting engine:

or

Windows Script 5.6 for Windows 2000 and XP
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...43-7e4b-4622-86eb-95a22b832caa&DisplayLang=en

Sometimes there's a corrupt file in the cache and one must go to Tools |
Internet Options and click Delete Files.

2a. Start>Run>Regsvr32 vbscript.dll

2b. Start>Run>Regsvr32 jscript.dll

(WinXP users who have problems with 2a and 2b, see
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers_9.htm)

3. Re-register all DLLs listed in http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=281679

5a. IE Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Browsing>Enable third-party browser
extensions (uncheck & reboot).

5b. Find the hijacker that caused 5a to be checked (or if none were checked,
check for hijackware anyway):
