We don't have this printer around any longer (not many people do).
I think the serial connector on the back of the printer is 25 pin (unsure on
gender). If the printer only has the 8pin round serial connector for the
MAC, good luck finding a 9pin to 8pin din converter.
I don't suppose you have the manual.
info from Apple

this would be the cable pinouts.

need? I am totally at lost with this.
Thanks

You need the right serial cable for this device. The 25 pin connector on
the back of the printer is for an external scsi drive.
For the serial connection to work both the printer and the com port need
to
be configured for the same handshake mode as well as baudrate and stop
bits.

I have an Apple Laserwriter II printer that I am trying to install on my
pc
which had Home Xp.
There are two Laserwriter II, one if IIf and the other IIg. I
installed
both (one at the time), but to no avail. There is no "connection"
between
the pc and the printer via the serial port. I am totally at loss with
this.
The serial port LPT1 is working properly and the printer indicates the
same.
I do not have the orginal drivers for this printer.
any help/hint would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Denys
