How to Access Apple LW Select 360 via EtherNet?

P

Paul

I want to access my Apple LaserWriter Select 360 via my
ethernet hub but the PC Computer doesn't see it.
Details. The LW360 does not have built-in ethetnet. You
run the Appletalk into a "box" and it comes out ethernet
on the other side. I also have an Epson hanging off the
Hub. Both my Mac and PC can see the Epson, The Mac can
see the LW 360. On the PC, I've selected the LW360 fron
XP's printer List. I've specified a "local" printer (no
Print Server) and Standard TCP/IP port - same as Epson.
All goes fine till time to print the test page (or any
page). There is no communication with the printer. With a
driver in XP's list, MS must intend to talk to this
printer. How do I do it?
Thanks,
Paul

I too cannot print to an Apple Laserwriter 16/600 via ethernet, all my
Macs and the laserprinter are plugged into an Asante wireless router
with 4 port switch built-in, I can print from any mac via ethernet or
wirelessly, but I cannot print with a new PC that is also hooked up to
the router via ethernet, but the internet access works fine, so there
is connectivity, it's just printing doesn't work, I cannot beleive how
the MS wizards are still using ancient connections like LPT ports and
parallel, I guess MS has never heard to USB or ethernet to build a
wizard that wil let you choose, like MAC OSX has.

and you people think it's a superior operating system.

I have no experience with environments containing mixed PCs and Macs. That
being said:

What happens when you run the Add printer wizard, choose a Network printer
and choose to Browse for the printer?

PS
I have no experience with the Mac OSX os so I would not venture to rank it
in connection with any version of Windows or UNIX or LINUX or .....
