Appearance problems

Guest

New computer with WinXP Pro installed.

Video res is 1280 x 1024, "Highest" Color quality.

1) When I try to set the background for the desktop -- centered or
stretched -- the top left corner of the image is down near the bottom right
corner of the screen.

2) Display Properties, Appearance (Windows XP Style), Advanced: Changing
the color of the Active Title Bar apparently has no effect.

3) Is there a way to change the appearance of the task bar?

4) Are there other skins (themes, I guess) available, other than the
Windows XP Plus!!!! pack?

TIA.

Hi,

2) The advanced options will only be effective under the classic style.

3) You can select different visual styles to change the appearance of teh
taskbar. Other than that you cannot change the color of the taskbar.

4) More visual styles/themes : www.themexp.org You need to install StyleXP
or the uxtheme.dll patch to use these third-party visual styles/themes.

color changes can be made in "windows xp style".

1-check settings tab for screen: 800x600 at least

2-after changing active title bar color go to theme tab
and if it has (modified) in theme box use save as button
to save theme.

3-change task bar 'color' using the appearance tab/color
scheme colors.....silver makes taskbar look more 3-d.

4-see http://tinyurl.com/usnk for lots of theme sites.

good luck ....
