How do I change my desktop icons to to have transparent backgrounds?
Currently the backgrounds have color.

Try this: Go to Control Panel, System, Advanced tab,
Performance Settings.
Under the Visual Effects tab, scroll down and put a check
in the box next to "Use drop shadows for icon labels on
the desktop"
That should produce the result you desire.

Hi All:
I simulated this fault as my brother had the same problem.
If you have a web view on your desktop this will happen.
To remove the web view do the following...
Right click The Desktop,
Click 'Properties',
Click the 'Desktop' TAB,
Click 'Customize Desktop' command button,
Click Web TAB,
In 'Web pages:' Deselect any web pages that are selected,
Click OK,
Click Apply.
Your Icons should return to normal.
If not, you may have to reset your display settings
as mentioned previously.
Go to Control Panel/System/Advanced TAB/
Performance Settings. Under the Visual Effects TAB,
scroll down and put a check in the box next to
"Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop"
Hope this helps.
Cheers Sharpy
