APPCRASH launching control panel

Hi:

I recently upgraded from XP Pro to Vista Ultimate, and whenever I launch
the Control Panel -- regardless of whether I am Administrator or a regular
user -- I receive the following APPCRASH error and Explorer must restart.
Can anyone propose a solution?

Thank you.

I upgraded to Vista and have this exact same error all the way through the versions trying to load Streetsmart Pro, which is a trading platform from Schwab/Cybertrader trading stocks. I have tried disabling visual effects, running as an admin, setting the MTU to 1452 with no success. I'm still workin on it.

Do you, David, have a Vista-compatible video card? I was thinking perhaps
this has to do with a driver issue, i.e. perhaps my video driver has custom
control panels that won't load correctly?

Thx,
/m
