API's for DVD Playback

Hi all,
I wanted to know if there are any API's provided by Windows SDK for
playing back video files from a DVD drive? Where can we get such information?

XP has no native ability to play DVD videos. You will need third-party
DVD software such as WinDVD or PowerDVD.
