A friend of mine has AOL dialup. She say's that sometimes she can hear AOL
trying to dialup and connect when she is on
the telephone. How can she stop this from happening?

Ask AOL tech support.
Turn off 'automatic dialing' of any sort.
Verify her machine has no spyware/adware.
