AOL Internet Explorer

B

Baines Manning

Whenever I click on a page on an AOL screen that takes me
to the web, I get an error message "Action Cancelled -
Internet Explorer unable to link to the web page your
requested" At the bottom it says "connected to site
205.188.146.146". This happens every time I try to
connect to a web site thru an AOL page. Usually IE I am
able to connect to the web site without any problems.
AOL is no help as they say the problem is with IE.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Running XP HE with plenty of RAM and hard drive.

Hi,

Let me see if I have this right....

Using Internet Explorer, you are able to connect to web sites

Using AOL's interface, you are not.

And AOL says this is an IE problem?

Sounds more like an incompetent support person problem. Call back, ask for
someone who knows what they are doing.

AOL is one of the very few ISP's that REQUIRE you install software to
connect to the internet. WHY??? And why does Windows XP promote AOL when
Windows XP comes ready to connect to the net without any new software?

Most ISP's will just set you up over the phone without any new software to
install.
