AOl in system tray and AOL Dialer

Is there a way to not have the AOL programs from always running in the
background? I use AOL periodally, but do not always want these running in
the background.
 
Try this: Start>Run and type in "msconfig" without the quotes. At "startup" tab try to disable the entries related to AOL.
