Teach her that professionals don't use AOL.

| I know what you are saying about backups! The problem here is that this file
| is apart of a file system used in AOL mail. This file that was found in a
| folder called "Organize" is actually used as the backup to AOL mail. She was
| changing from AOL 9.0 to 9.0a and they told her to move this file. When she
| did it was found to have errors. She then attempted to redownload the Data
| from AOL just to find out that only a part of the data was available.

| I was able to restore most of her lost e-mails by substituting subfolders
| out of "Organize" in 9.0 for folders in 9.0a. One folder or really a file
| came up bad. I've been looking at trying to find ways around this CRC error.
| This is a 15meg file that is basically added onto over time. So I'm assuming
| that only a small portion of that file is messed up. I've been looking at a
| program called "SpinRite" hoping that maybe it can recover the data and
| restore this file, even a partial restoration would be good. Of course AOL
| is no help at all. She is really angry at them because she didn't want to
| update. They managed to get her to update against her will to really do
| this. She was afraid of loosing her mail actually. Now the mail is somewhat
| lost and she's in trouble. I'm trying to get her to change to OutLook
| Express. I've never had problems with OE so far and I've been using it for
| many years. Even if something does go wrong I've been able to recover with
| DBX Extract and other programs.

| So i'll keep at it because her business is at risk at this point. She needs
| that info bad! She's a Marine Surveyor and has all kinds of survey reports
| in that file.
