Hi there,

I am frustrated beyond belief. I have been using AOL for 6 years and
Windows XP for 2 1/2 years. I was recently beta testing for AOL, when a d/l
screwed up my ability to connect to AOL. I removed all copies of AOL and
reinstalled and finally was able to connect but I did call AOL Tech Support
and was told to open up IE and type in www.aol.com. I already knew this
wouldn't work because I had tried it many times before or other programs had
tried to connect without success, when AOL was closed. The AOL Tech assured
me that I should be able to connect to the internet without having the AOL
software open, or beind signed on. I was not able to do so. IE acts as if
there is no open internet connect when AOL is not open and I am not siged on.
I have tried everything I can think of. When I sent a nasty email to AOL,
they assured me again that I should be able to connect to the internet
without opening their software, and that I should now contact Microsoft for
help. So here I am. I thought this was a better way than calling Microsoft
Tech Support. Anybody out there with any ideas are welcome. Thanks! Melanie

If you are even a tad more advanced that a "beginner", do yourself a favor.
Get rid of AOHell! It's more trouble that any other program available. It is
also the most intrusive VIRUS ever introduced to the computing public!

AOL for BROADBAND is exactly that, AOL FOR!! BROADBAND,
You have dsl from another company, most likely your phone
company. So those are people you should be talking to.
