anyway to rest my settings

I'm trying to figure out how to rest my settings in xp so I can burn my cd's.
Everytime I make a cd the cd doesn't play on my cd player or car stero only
in my dvd player or computer. I have used windows media player 10 and music
jukebox and I came up with the same results. Can someone please give me some
info that I can use.

Do you mean 'reset' your settings? I don't know if going that far is really
what you want to do!
Best advice I can give you is:

-Try Nero to burn your cds! Cheers to MS for integrating disk burning into
their OS, but Boos also because it is confusing at first and really doesn't
compare to 3rd party proggies like Nero.
-I personally have had the best luck using Verbatim brand disks. I have used
Maxell, TDK, Sony & etc. etc. Verbatim is the only brand of disk that has
played in every cd player for me regardless of whether it's a PC or home/car
stereo. The other brands just don't do it like Verbatim. (My personal
experience/opinion)
-Make sure you are using CD-R not CD-RW disks!
-Burn your disks at a lower speed. I've noticed since I got a faster burner,
I've also had more disks fail. (Just 2+2=4, no actual facts to back that
up.)
-Make sure you are burning your disks in 'Audio' mode, not 'Data' mode!

Can't think of too much else beyond that right now.
