Done it from Business to Ultimate. If you have an installation DVD for
your Home Premium, you won't need the Anytime Upgrade disk as all
versions of Vista are on all DVDs and it's the CD Key you input during
Setup which determines what gets installed.

Basically,

You run the app, it connects you to a website. You get parted with your
money and you're given an application to download and run. You run
that, leave it open and stick the DVD in, running Setup from that. Or
you can save the app and run it later if you want to install later on.
You'll not be prompted to insert a CD Key as the small app does that.

You'll receive an e-mail at the address you supplied when you paid,
telling you where you can download the app and also telling you about
the Digital Locker they also send it to.

DOWNSIDE:

At no point do you receive a CD Key. Use something like Belarc Advisor
to retrieve your CD Key once it's installed.

went from Home Premium to Ultimate last night - 1 issue
had to uninstall/reinstall SoundBlaster drivers - Audigy 2ZS - now fine
was able to get the online buy from Staples - $149.98
don't know if Staples is available in all areas
ran Belarc Advisor (thanks Conor) - recorded Ultimate key
NOW - IF I have to reinstall Ultimate:
I use the Home Premium disk I originally bought
(full version) and the Ultimate key?
yes?
no?

Thanks again Conor - good post - you nailed it

The Anytime Upgrade license is also more restrictive (items 15 and 16 of the
EULA).

Transfer to another device:
You may move the software to another device one time only and only if the
software you upgraded from allows it (was not an OEM version).

Transfer to another party:
You may transfer the software to another party but only on the device it is
installed on. You may not keep copies of the software or prior versions.
The transferee must agree to the license terms and you must supply proof of
ownership.

That is my paraphrased version of the EULA and may not be interpreted
correctly. Read the whole license yourself for the complete terms of the
Anytime Update clause in the EULA.
