Anytime Upgrade DVD without pre-installation?

The problem is that I got a Vista Key but no Installation-DVD. Now I wonder
if it is possible to install Windows Vista from the Anytime Upgrade DVD
without Windows Vista currently installed. I only have Windows XP Pro on this
PC and I want Vista to be installed and since I got a valid key, i thought
there must be a way to install it.

Thanks for helping me.

I actually used the Anytime Upgrade DVD to perform a clean installation on a
new laptop because it only came with a recovery disc. Worked fine with the
Vista key on the bottom, and it was a nice clean install without all the demo
software and junk.
