Sounds really kewl. The description doesn't match the type of thing
Date_Run does, though. For example, I don't need another sheduler as
I have an excellent one in PUAC. This Log Monitor is neat, but it's
goal is not the same as Date_Run's and although it isn't a scheduler,
it doesn't sound like what I need.
Here's the blurb from SOSs site for Date_Run, which I realize I should
have included earlier. Sorry 'bout that:
"Date_Run works nearly like your startup folder, but just nearly. It
was developed to start a selected program automatically, but only ONCE
a day while you're starting your system. This is independent from how
often you restart your system this day. Date_run was developed to
solve a little problem. If you want to start a program automatically
while starting your system, you can create a link from this program to
your startup folder. If you are starting your system ten times on the
same day this program will be started ten times, too. This got on my
nerves, so I developed Date_Run. SYSTEM INFORMATION : Date_Run is an
absolutely system friendly programm. No entries in the Registry are
required. The needed program, its DLLs and its Ini-file are all stored
in the same folder. Author requests if you like it to register
(free)if enough register he will improve the program."
Sounds perfect for my needs without providing any extra services and
it's standalone, etc., tying into the startup folder which is perfect.
I have 2 programs, one of which is a birthday program, that I only
need to have run once a day on system startup no matter how many times
I boot up or re-boot.
PUAC already takes care of all my scheduling needs and it's perfect
for that but I don't want to have to add another item to it. If I had
Date_Run, it would take care of separate functions and would not rely
on how many times I start my computer up, which is what varies.
Anyway, maybe someone somewhere even has this program from before it
disappeared (?)
Sounds really neat. I'll definitely keep it in mind for potential
future use. Thanks!
