Anyone Recommend A Good Spam Filter?

Hi.
Can any of you recommend a good anti spam program (preferably free..) that I
can use with OE? For some reason its gone from 3 a day which I could cope
with, to about 30, which is a bloody joke! I want one that puts all the
emails in a spam folder rather than deleting them straight away so that I
can check them.
I think it may have been because I replied to an email to get myself
removed, but it was a chance I thought I should take as it seemed like a
proper company with an actual street address and everything... Stupid me!
The thing is, your damned if you do and your damned if you dont.
Bring on the day when we can sign up and register to stop all spam like you
can do with unwanted snail mail.
What dyou all think?
Thanks in advance.

I've been having exceptionally good luck with K9 http://keir.net/k9.html
which is free. Right now it is bagging 99.2% of my spam and has never once
(in two months anyway) falsely identified a message as spam when it was
good. One thing though, this is a Bayesian filtering program which means
that it needs to "learn" so that means you will need to spend a bit of time
correcting it when it makes a bad decision and lets something through that
it shouldn't have. The good news about this is that the more email you
receive, spam in particular, the faster it can learn.

MyRealBox is OK, if you don't mind the downtime when they update the
servers, understand it's a test platform, and don't care about not being
able to access your email on occasion while they change things. (As spelled
out in their own site before you sign up.)

If you have to ask if your copy of XP is 32 or 64 bit, it's 32.

Thanks for the replies.
I forgot to mention that I am using 1 standard POP3 account and also Hotmail
through OE, which K9 doesn't support. Im still going to give it a try
though.
Any other ideas? Cheers...

x-no-archive: yes

It does have significant downtime, some of the time. But spam is
practically nonexistent.

There is a new one out at www.spamihilator.com which seems to do a good
job. It works by weighting words in the message on the basis of
'Bayesiian filtering', which can be trained. So you can look at files
it has caught as suspect in its 'training area' and say if they are
actually spam or not. And tell it addresses of senders that are to be
regarded as friends or as to be always blocked. And is free
(contributions invited but not demanded)
