A quick Google would have told you the answer.

%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\[your-username]\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

You may need to have hidden files enabled (I don't remember and the XP box
isn't on right now). The option to enable/disable hidden files is in
Control Panel>Folder Options>View tab.

I only found the answer out earlier when I researched and answered the
question. Any idea why it should be in an Internet Explorer folder? That
doesn't seem logical.

Perhaps the Microsoft in a parallel universe crafted their operating systems
in a logical way but not in this one. ;-)

No, I have no idea why MS put things where they did.

does anyone know how to properly craft a subject line?
I'm too brain dead to come up with anything more descriptive
than "anyone know ...?"

Or perhaps I'm so manipulative that I crafted a vague subject
line on purpose to make sure that as many people will read it
as possible just to see if they can answer it.

or More to the bloody point,, Why doesnt it show up in Any kind of Search using xp's bloody search
facility? its not like its got nuclear secrets.
Win98 is Soooo much more friendly in finding things,, its all so easy.

also, where the bloody hell is the 'send to' folder in xp??
(i gather ppl still use context menus....... yes? then why too isnt that easy to find;; someone
told me xp re-named it just to be annoying,, is this so?) i constantly put things in and out of
my 'send to ' folder for the benefit of having them accessable via a r/click and subsequent menu
list of options. (same with q/launch... i put things in for maybe a month while i'm doing
something, then i might simply take it out when i'm finished etc.. i'd hate to be a newcomer to
computing nowadays,, because if you didnt at least grow up using 98, then your Stuffed!!!!!

The "Quick Launch" folder *does* show up in the results for a search.
You must be doing it incorrectly. My guess is that you neglected to
check the box next to "Search hidden files and folders."

P.S. Please adjust your word wrap to no more than 72 characters. Thank
you.

As Daave says it does show up in a search. That's how I found out where
it is located.

If you don't like where it is you can always make your own. Or multiple if
you so desire...

1. Make a folder where you want it, give it a snappy name.

2. Populate it with whatever shortcuts you may want...
(a) to programs (the exe)
(b) to documents
(c) to other folders or drives
(d) to URLs
(e) et cetera

3. Right click on the taskbar, select "Toolbars"

4. Select "New toolbar..."

5. Browse to your folder, select it, click "OK"

If you want to experiment with how the new toolbar looks/behaves, right
click it and play with "View", "Show text" and "Show title".

I have11 toolbars distributed at left, right and bottom of monitor and can
get most anything or anywhere (those used frequently) in a couple of clicks.
Much better than a single "Quick Launch", infinitely better than "Start".

Oh, you really didn't want help. You just wanted to vent. Okay. Happy
venting. Goodbye.

Netiquette dictates wrapping lines at 76, or less characters, not at
100+ characters. Reconfigure OE. OE defaults to 76 characters so YOU
changed it.

first., i apologise to all that had griped about my post,, but i was vewy peeved at the time,,
and Still havent found certain things. grrrr.

as for wordwrap,, of which two ppl complained about,, i have no bloody idea how it obviously
somehow got changed to something that is not accepted in n/g.. and as i type i'm Still trying to
find the Option or whatever that puts it at 75 or less via o/e.
i'm in 'options' as i type but cant find a damn thing about 'word wrap'.

so, in regard to your comment 'van-g',, i did NOT change it!! but am more than happy to
rectify what suits n/g,, so if you tell me where the option is, i will go fix it.

J

jack

and to all that replied with at least some practical advice, i thank you,, especially Gerry.

Tools | Options | Send | News Sending Format | Plain Text Settings

Please senter 72.

You're welcome Jack.

In Outlook Express select Tools, Options, Send, Mail Sending Format and
check Plain text. Next click on Plain Text Settings and enter 72 in the
box after the box "Automatically wrap text at". Finally click on OK,
Aplly and OK.

Jack,
I'm very glad to hear that you have been given answers to both
of the questions that you have posed (location of QL folder and then
location of 'Send to...' folder).

However you do say : "...and Still havent found certain things.
grrrr".

I'd just like to add, that I will be [very] happy to answer any problem
(including anything related to the 'translating' of the way things are
done in Win '98 to XP) of finding things in XP, no matter how trivial it
seems.

We all need some help from time to time, and it's usually the very
smallest of things that get's us banging our heads against the wall, in
the end.

Cheers, Tim Meddick, Peckham, London. :)

In addition to the specic advice you received, here is one that works pretty
well too...

1. OE

2. Help

3. Index

4. Type in what you want to know about - in this case, "word wrap"

It works in other programs too :)
