Anybody want this Bill McCarthy fellow?

Come on, lads. Help us all out here. Drag that Bill McCarthy MVP idiot back
to your dotnet group, which he has been neglecting for the last couple of
months whilst he has been waging his one man war against the users of VB6 in
the Classic VB group. Don't any of you want him back?

I'm sure I'll regret asking, but I'm going to anyway.
I've looked at numerous posts by the personality you refer to, and I see
efforts to assist in the main. I can also not find anything where this
personality is claiming to be an MVP. AMOF, if he is an MVP, he appears to
have chosen to keep his affiliation private. So, why should he (or anybody,
for that matter) be restricted to .NET groups?

You've obviously not looked at many of his posts, nor read the posts by a
large number of contributors who all want him to leave the group.

claiming to be an MVP. AMOF, if he is an MVP,

He used to claim to be an MVP, and in fact he definitely did have an MVP
profile (or someone whose name he is using did!)that was available from a
quick search on:

https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/communities/mvp.aspx

I know that because I have seen and read it. I definitely read it after I
ceased to be an MVP myself, so his profile was at least partially available
to the general public. Other MVPs here will no doubt confirm that he was
until fairly recently an MVP. However, he seems to have been keeping his
nose relatively clean (or at least as clean as he can considering his normal
abusive and disruptive manner regarding anybody who uses VB6 and does not
wish to use vb.net), and he has not repeated his claim in recent times, so
it is likely that he has been sacked! I certainly hope so.
So, why should he (or anybody, for that matter)
be restricted to .NET groups?

He, like everyone else, is welcome in any group he wishes to contribute to
provided that he does not deliberately attempt to disrupt the group, in
which case he will undoubtedly make himself unwelcome, as he has already
done on the Classic VB group.

I have to admit my review was cursory at best, and I'm not interested enough
to dig any deeper.
I actually thought the whole thing was some kind of troll vendetta, but I
can see by your measured and reasonable response that my assumption was
incorrect.
Thank you for the courtesy. I was not trying to start anything.
