Hmmm.

Will it be:

AcroFlash,
AcroMedia,
MediaBat
MacroAcro
BatFlash

For starters.

;-)

I think it's really a bigger deal than most people are figuring it for.

Steve Ballmer must have peed his pants in excitment when hearing the
announcement that Adobe intends to acquire Macromedia [1] as anybody that
has been in this business since the beginning knows Adobe will destroy what
Macromedia has accomplished.

Adobe has dominated print only because there was and has been a lot of
resellers in the print industry who have a knowledgebase that is 1 mile deep
and 1" wide which is how the print industry functions and exactly what it
needs. Those people in the "channel" are dumb and deaf however when it
comes to web design and development which requires a knowledgebase 1" deep
and 1 mile wide.

Adobe has the worst reputation for customer support in the industry and has
always been good for sh!t communicating to and supporting customers. One
good look through all of the 404s and lack of customer support in the
crippled adobe.com website should get the message across noting adobe.com
has been doo-doo since day one. For a company of this alleged status their
website is indicative of their internal corporate policy.

The revenue Adobe has earned from the print industry has not neccessarily
bought the company wisdom. That's why they are trying to buy their way out
of the hole. Adobe will destroy what Macromedia has accomplished.

Yes, I do too.

Corporate Identity will be Adobe.

Product branding will stay the same.

I suspect that GL will become the entry level product....

As for what will happen in the graphics editor arena, it's anybody's guess.

LOL,
to tell you the truth, the things that make Photoshop difficult for me seem
to be the same things that make flash difficult for me. so maybe they're
closer in design perspective (GUI) than they've gotten credit for. :-)
