Any way to find and delete duplicate mail ??

Synapse Syndrome

This is posted to the Windows Mail and Outlook groups.

I have imported old OE6 emails from a couple of XP machines into Windows
Mail (which I just use for newsgroups) before importing them into Outlook
2007 on Vista.

Some of these emails are duplicated on the machines they came from. Is
there a way in either Windows Mail or Outlook to delete duplicates?

Cheers

Well that's cool! I don't suspect that you are going to tell us how to get it
without paying......which is $25 for the Vista version in a special offer you
have made. In all due respect.....and I mean it resectfully.....It seems to
me that the point to be made has nothing to do with your fine software which
does lots of stuff beyond finding and deleting dups in email, which is all I
need to do. The point should be...why should any of us using Vista (paying
$400 for it!) have to buy extra software to fix something one MS program did
to screw up another MS program? I too, imported my OE mail into Windows Mail
and ended up with dups of most of it. Due to the quantity of mail, going
through it manually and deleting is not feasible. Microsoft owes us a fix for
this, admittedly minor problem, but a problem nonetheless which takes up
valuable storage space.

So anyone know where how we can get the oex program without paying since
Steve just said it worked without buying it... I tried all the other free
utils on the oehelp.com site and none fixed my duplication problem or even
had a button to try...

My problem isn't even from an import sbcglobal.net just changed their server
names for e-mail and when I updated that It retrieved ALL the messages on the
server as new.

First, this newsgroup is for Office Outlook , not Outlook Express or Windows
Mail. Ask in
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.opublic.outlookexpress.general or
news://msnews.microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail

That shouldn't have happened. It didn't for me. Why are you leaving copies
on the server?

I leave copies on the server because I travel a lot and if I don't happen to
have my laptop with me I can still check e-mails through mail.yahoo.com

And I think your confused because this forum IS the windows mail under
windows vista forum... but easy to get confused I understand.
