Any screensave creators

M

MightyKitten

I'm a reasonable amateur photographer, and I'd like to make these photo's
aviable as screensaver through my site. (For free of course, I never
understood people who asked money for picture/photo screensavers.)
So What I need is a screensaver builder who:
- Is freeware.
- Can make a standalone screensaver
- Preferrably can add mp3 sound(s)
- Preferably is also free to use for company's (I want to distribute the
sreensaver trough my company website, and I want to do this with out
violating licences and/or copyrights. The screensavers I want to make are
not commercial, exept for the fact that you have to download it though my
site... - I have to put it somewhere- )
- XP compatible

The only one I know of is Save Forge (Except it can not add sounds).. This
feature is an optional choice for me, but if ther is any, I'd prefer it. I
just want to know about other freeware screensaver makers to have a
choice...

Shareware or personal screensaver builders are not of interest to me.
(Yeah I know, I have a lot of demands, but I want to create a product that
is )

Thanks in advance.

2Flyer Screensaver Builder
i tested it right now, building a saver out of 12 640*480 jpeg on a w2k
machine and running the installation exe on another w2k pc.
the install works ok, but looks like it needs admin rights for running too
(as a normal user, it seems it cant show the images, which get installed in
the "\program files\[savername]\" folder: which means btw, if you dont like
your jpeg's can be seen without the saver, dont use it.).
i didnt test the sound capabilities, but the effects look good.
worth a try, imho.

I don't realy mind anybody looking at my pictures without the screensaver.
It is just I've had an company I word for steeling the copyrights of my
pictures. I took them as an amateur photographer in my spare time... But the
company I worked for claimed them. Naive at the time, I did not take
precautons... Now I think of it as a hard but quick way of learning to deal
with these situations...

This has been posted before. It does put the picture files inside the
screensaver file, so they are more difficult for someone to access...

You can make nice screensavers using your own pictures and background
sound using ImageForge - http://www.simtel.net/pub/pd/64469.html
Here's how to make a screensaver using this paint program...
1- go to its "Tools" menu and then to "Create Album or Slide Show"

2- on the "Image Files" tab, click the + button to add your pictures

3- also on the "Image Files" tab, there is a check box to turn your
slide show into a screen saver

4- go to the "Viewer" tab to give a file name for the screen saver
(this should end in the letters ".SCR" - without the quote marks)

5- go to the "Slide Show" tab to add animated effects and sound if you
want.

Once you generate the screen saver's .SCR file, just copy it to your
"C:\Windows\System32" folder (Win 2000 or XP) or "C:\Windows\System"
folder (Win 98 or ME) so that you can select your new screen saver
from the list in Windows' Control Panel/Display.

- return address is altered slightly to reduce spam.

Thanx, I'll try it.
I think it is just wat I need. As said before. I don't realy mind people
ripping the software just to get a backgroundpicture or to morph it for fun
or something.

I just hate it when others want to make money of things I give away freely.
(though I can understand a fee if you get it on cd or whatever media it is
on) A site who (to my opinion) is doing as it should be is nonags
(http://www.nonags.com) as soon as I'm able to get interst form my bank
(instead of paing it) I think of realy signing up to these guys. They're
doing a great job.

Some of us do it to supplement our measely disability pensions so we can try
to eat almost every day.
