Any plans to redesign BCM?

This program is very difficult to work with and not very real-world IMO. I
wish you could create folders in BCM, customze your flags for followup by
color in something more than email, more easily create views by being able to
rightclick and show/hide a category, etc.
I'm pretty much stuck using BCM because I don't have another option - but I
hate, hate, hate it. I find myself bogged down in a sea of contacts and it
needs a lot in the way of simplicity and real-world use.

I love MS products but HATE this one. If only there was a BCM that was as
intuitive as, say, Entourage - and if only Entourage was a contact manager
and had expanded capabilities like OUtlook does. I must say also that
Entourage's inabillity to drag your tasks into order is a big mistake which
renders it very difficult to use. It would be great if you had a plug in for
that, but so far my requests to Microsoft have gone unacknowledged.

RV,

Is this comment regarding BCM V2 (Outlook 2003) or BCM 2007? If you haven't
already, please try BCM 2007. Additionally, be advised that there was a
technical refresh release less than a month ago that further addressed a lot
of performance issues.

It looks like I have v. 2 which was an add-in download for Outlook 2003. I
have MS Ofc 2003 and Windows 2000. Will this 2007 update run on that? Is
the update free or am I going to have to upgrade to a new edition of Office
or something? I don't have the budget to do that right now and I am tearing
my hair out with this pain-in-the-neck product. =0 !!!
Thanks

You know something else, too that 's really annoying about Outlook - I am
using phone list view to manage a call list, and just want a simple way to
track my calls and then categorize things for followup. There's nowhere to
simply make phone notes (left message, call back etc right in that view. and
then to sort by it. So half of my follow up flags have phone notes on them
which muddies the whole process. It's good to be able to create a contact
log inside the contact, but I need to be able to see the current contact
status in phone list view and to sort by that.

What I"d like to be able to do is simply make notes in a field from that
view, flag the ones with a follow up action with colored flags (purple for
mail brochures, red for appointment, etc). And maybe this can be done and I
just haven't figured out how yet, but if I set a follow up flag for tomorrow
at two, I'd like it to show somewhere , like in a today page like in the
personal folders, or something. Or on a calendar. Or be able to sort by
flag date. what good is being able to set flag dates if they simply get lost
in a sea of other flags wehre I've had to make phone notes? I've already
caught twice where I forgot to send out brochures because of this.
Instead I have a sea of red flags, a bunch of preview notes, and I have to
constantly change views because all of the contacts are in one place instead
of in their own specific folders, have to create new views to filter out
categories, etc. Why can't they make it simple and intuitive?

I believe you've posted that issue as a separate thread later in the day.
You are using Phone List to attempt to get functionality of Opportunity
tracking.

It would appear that you are not using the product as it was intended with
integrated phone log functionality. 2007 is a lot more functional, and
currently free except for the $1.50/download fee, but it will expire in
February of 2007 at which point you will need to purchase it.

It is a beta product, however I find it to be rather stable.
