I upgrade my computer month before, becasue its, well, slow. I bought a Asus 6600GT 128MB AGP graphic card and a 256MB memery, but when i play the Count Strike Source the fps only have 30 after rebuilt the config file, also the Battlefield 2 got less than 20 fps. then i use the 3Dmark 05 pro to test the graphic card, well, only have 2750 mark. i know normally the 6600GT will get more than 4000 mark, but my system ugh¬¬¬! whats wrong with my system?
My Motherboard only have a 4x AGP, do u think is this the problem? if i want 2 get it faster do i need a new motherboard?

Here r the specs-
Operating System - Microsoft Windows XP pro sp2
Processor - Intel Pentium 4 CPu 2.40 GHz
Memory - 512Mb RAM 256MB X 2
Manufacturer - Packard Bell NEC
Graphic card - Asus 6600GT 128, running at core clock 560, memery clock 1020.
Motherboard - NEC sis650

Its very slow and i want 2 get it faster, what do u think i should get

Thanx
Quan

that sounds kinda low but i doubt it should be much more than that, if you want better performance then a new motherboard is a must, another 512MB of RAM would help, what make and speed is your current stuff?, how much do you want to spend?

whats wrong with it ? how can i adjust it?

Overclock it :)

Seriously, Unless i aint seeing something it looks fine to me. The Ramdac clock is something different. TBH i not sure what it is....
But the speeds seem fine, shame about the 4xAGP though.....

If you want to see the speed of the memory then look at the last bit like this..

Memory Bus Properties:
Bus Type GDDR3
Bus Width 128-bit
Real Clock 509 MHz (DDR)
Effective Clock 1018 MHz
Bandwidth 15.9 GB/s

Real clock = the true speed of the cards memory.

DDR = Double Data Rate meaning its runs twice as fast

Effective Clock = the speed the memory runs at.

509 x 2 = 1018.

Sorry i cant be more informative, still at work at the mo and am short on time.

:)

Your "problem" is using a 30year old CPU ...

CPU Type Intel Pentium 4, 2400 MHz (24 x 100) ... ;)

You need a new system.

a new motherboard would be best to get some upgradeability, you can probably use your current RAM and CPU in a newer motherboard but they really need to be upgraded aswell if you want to get some decent performance, your looking at about £250 upgrading  maybe less

It depends on what case you have if it is compatible with the MOBO you intend to purchase. Most MOBOs today require ATX cases.

the RAM you currently have (im guessing as the details from everest didn't say) will more than likely be 333Mhz FSB to match your CPU, when/if you get a new P4 it will need 400Mhz FSB, you can use the faster RAM with your old CPU but your old stuff wont work properly with a newer CPU
