Antivirus Vendors

I recenelty just migrated 300 computers from Norton Corp version 9 to
Trend Micro office scan 7.0. We updated Office scan to version 8.5 and
lost some compents (Email Scanning, could not install over a website
that we where able to before the upgrade). We are now in the market
again for antivirus products.

Can you tell me what vendor you use and if you had a Good / Bad
experince with them.

Please respond only if you have a Server - Client Flavor of a product
and your product scans emails (POP3 / IMAPI).

Example - Norton Corp 10 - love it - why? Norton Corp 10 - hate it -
why?

I don't like Norton at home but at the office we use Norton Corporate.
Not sure what version, but its kinda old. Since we had so many users on
laptops, and on the road for weeks at a time, we normally installed it
as 'unmanaged', as client managed. So we basically did not use the
corporate concept.

Which brings up the question: Why does it have to be a corporate version?

If AVG or Avast work good for home users, why not at the office?
About 10% of the people started installing AVG.

dumb. They don't notice if updates are failing; maybe not even if the
resident scanner gets disabled. And they change things!
Central management lets us watch for that kind of stuff, and we can see
what's being attacked and by what. Most of the new versions of corp
level stuff also integrates with Cisco routers to give NAC, which is
invaluable where there are devices that might connect to our network
after some time away so that they can't be trusted.

We've had McAfee (wouldn't touch the non-corp version though) and Sophos
for a long time, but due to pricing issues are looking at switching the
McAfee users to Kaspersky (lots of features, nice management console).

I agree completely Trend Micro has a nice web central enterface.
however, they took some things away from me that made me kinda bitter.
I wouldn't want anything less than what i have now. We can get McAfee
off of state contract so that is probably the way we are going. I have
always had a problem with them though (Slow to update) But they are
intergrated with Postini.com (which we use). Who knows.

Norton Corp 9 - Hated it. Appeared old and dated - Server stopped
pulling down updated.
McAfee - Hated the home version - The home version really made me not
like them, but i guess i will have to check out their corp stuff
AVG - Liked it - I used the home version and i also installed the corp
for a customer - It was really hard to setup their corp stuff and it
didn't work out to well.
Nod32 - liked it - I used the home version and it was not to bad.
Kerplasky - never could find it to download it
sophos - breifly heard about this product never looked into it.
Trend - PC-Cillin was a great product i though always worked well.
Office scan was a great product and worked well also. Now they pulled
some features away. (email scanning)

If you have Mac or Linux boxes to protect as well, McAfee don't bundle
the scanners for those into the main deal, which is another possible
contraindication.

We have zero Linux (thank god) and zero Mac's (double thank god)

workstations....

If you had to choose between Symantec / MaCaffe / Trend Micro (corp
editions) what would you choose?

I had to setup AVG corp edition and it was an awful experience. What
do they offer that would make me want to reconcider?
